I wrote about five drugstore must haves that every beauty junkie needs here. Now I’m going to tell you the high-end beauty products you need. Let’s start with eyeshadows. Eye makeup is my favourite thing and where I spend the most obscene amount of money. Urban Decay make my favourite high-end eyeshadows. I own quite a few of their palettes and the ones on heavy rotation are both the Naked Smoky palette and Naked Heat palette.
The Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette has 12 smoky shades that you can easily wear for day and night time. It has four mattes and eight shimmers.
My favourites to wear are Black Market, Smolder and Password. The naked smoky palette comes with a decent crease/blend brush that you can use to blend out your transition colour(s) and the shimmer shades look more vibrant with a spritz of setting spray. You get 12 shades at 1.2g for £39.50. The full size Urban Decay eyeshadows are 1.5g at £14 per shadow. This makes the eyeshadow palettes a great investment. At the moment, Urban Decay have everything on sale for 20% off which is amazing! I wish I’d saved 20% on mine 😉 I think this palette looks great on brown skin.
This is the neutral palette that deserves all the hype it gets. I know warm neutral palettes are a dime a dozen in the beauty industry but you can’t hate on Urban Decay Naked Heat no matter how hard you try. The mattes are amazing and can be worn on their own if you’re feeling lazy or pressed for time. Like the previous Urban Decay Naked palette, this also retails for £39.50. You get six proper mattes, and six shimmers. I think warm eye colours look great on brown skin. I love to throw a warm colour in my crease and pair it up with a blue lid colour like I did here 🙂
Once your base is perfect if you want a little extra sumn sumn, then you need a highlighter. If you wanna glow on these bihs then Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey is the ultimate highlighter. I always wore Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick in Bronze which is recommended for brown and dark skins. The shimmer brick finish was the definition of sophistication but I needed something more. Enter Gilded Honey. This highlight is so creamy and shimmery. It makes the high points of my cheekbones pop and finishes any makeup look beautifully. It retails for £21 – £17 depending on where you shop. You get 4.5g and this will last you ages as you only need a little bit on your brush. Don’t go overboard with it 😉 If you have brown skin or dark skin, this highlighter will make you melanin glow even more.
This list wouldn’t be complete without a good liquid matte lipstick. Coloured Raine is a cruelty-free black-owned beauty brand. Their makeup is delicious and I love it. God bless Youtube or I wouldn’t have discovered them. If you want a matte liquid lipstick that is cruelty free, lasts, doesn’t budge and is super pigmented then look no further. Each swipe delivers opaque pigment – and it is not easy to remove! Coloured Raine is a great brand for those with brown skin or dark skin as the shades are flattering and made with us in mind. They are available on Beauty Bay and Coloured Raine’s official website. I reviewed Tootsie in detail here.
What are your high-end beauty must haves?
Loved this post! I’ve had my eye on the Naked heat palette for so long now, really need to invest in it-such a gorgeous palette! xx
Hi Jessie!
Thank you very much 😊😊😊
The Naked Heat palette is worth it I promise 😉 Once I swatched those mattes I was done 😄 xx
I don’t actually have high end must haves, I mean MAC lippies are fantastic, but I think I need to try more high end stuff! Urban Decay eyeshadows are also incredible!

Hi Laura 😊
I haven’t tried MAC lipsticks myself but I know Ruby Woo is revered!
Which UD shadows are your favourites?

I couldn’t agree more. Warm colours are flattering on everybody 🙂 x
I don’t really ve high end product- I used to ve the Estée Lauder foundation but didn’t like it at all… I will definitely be investing soon in some Lancôme foundation
That’s surprising. I know that foundation is hyped up. I tried Lancome once but found them a bit orange 😉
Have used it a few time from my sisters collection and it suit me 🙂
That’s good! Finding a match for black and brown people is hard and it shouldn’t be
